Position Description:

This position is aimed at conducting neuroscience research in a collaborative lab environment. The goal of the lab is to understand how dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin signal in the brain at a fundamental level, using in vitro electrophysiology.



Duties include: learn and perform experiments using mice, including brain slice electrophysiology, histology, microscopy, and behavioral assays; comply with safety regulations and research ethics; maintain a detailed, written record of research daily in a lab notebook; perform data analysis; read relevant primary literature; present work informally on a weekly basis; share responsibility for general upkeep of lab.



May also be involved in presenting research and writing primary manuscripts for publication, if sufficiently motivated.

Education Requirement:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related science.

Required Qualifications:

Stable work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be willing to handle and conduct experiments using mice.



U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Well-organized, hard-working, enthusiastic, adaptable, and persistent; prior experience working in a laboratory setting and familiarity with basic laboratory methods; willingness to participate in didactic lectures, journal clubs, or take online courses as needed to learn and improve skills.
