The University provides the option to deposit pre-tax money to use toward eligible health and dependent care expenses. Research Interns whose salary is subject to state and federal taxes are eligible to participate.
The University provides an annual paid leave of 15 working days.
Participation in a Retirement Plan is mandatory for Research Interns with taxable income. The intern has a choice of participation in either the IPERS (Iowa Public Employee Retirement System) plan or TIAA-CREF. Both the University and the intern contribute to the plan elected.
