| Position Description: | The laboratory of Dr. Mary Weber in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking a full-time Post-Baccalaureate Research Intern. This Research Intern position will assist with cutting-edge research focused on understanding how the intracellular bacterial pathogens Chlamydia trachomatis and Orientia tsutsugamushi use secreted effector proteins to manipulate host cell processes and promote infection. Projects in the laboratory employ a multidisciplinary approach integrating molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and genetic techniques.
