Position Description:

A research intern (post-baccalaureate) is needed to conduct cutting-edge research focused on the musculoskeletal injuries, diseases and tissue regeneration. The candidate will assist in performing experiments in cultured cells and mice using molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques. This appointment is for a limited duration, anticipated length of one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year.




  • Maintain colonies of genetically modified mice: breeding, weaning and genotyping of the mice as well as maintaining electronic records of the colonies.

  • Perform laboratory maintenance and preparation of stock solutions.

  • Perform experiments using cell and molecular methodologies in mice, mouse tissues and cell cultures.

  • Maintain laboratory and experimental records.

  • Perform molecular cloning and generate adenovirus and lentivirus expressing various proteins and RNAi.

  • Assist graduate students and/or postdoctoral fellows in maintaining mouse colonies and performing genotyping and experiments.

  • Keep detailed written and organized records of experimental design, protocols, computer data analysis and raw data.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree required. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Plan to pursue a graduate or professional degree in science, medicine or a related field and

  • Have US citizenship or permanent residence
