| Position Description: | We are seeking an industrious and energetic Research Intern. This Research Internship within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics provides a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary group involving collaborators from the College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, and the Department of Computer Science (in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences). Our clinical research revolves around novel mobile health and e-health interventions that may lead to improved patient care. Many of these interventions and projects involve introducing, testing, and evaluating new technological approaches. This position will provide opportunities to build qualitative, quantitative, and critical reasoning skills while also working with patients, research subjects, designers, healthcare professionals and researchers in health and computer science. This position is ideal for someone ultimately interested in attending medical school or pursuing graduate training in other health professions. Under the direction of the investigators, you will be involved with carrying out and developing research protocols, research participant recruitment, interviewing, education and scheduling, performing literature reviews, database entry/management, and completing a wide range of activities to fulfill the needs of research studies. | Required Qualifications: | Highly-motivated, interest in medical research, attention to detail and dependable. |
| Desirable Qualifications: | Effective communicator, strong organizational skills, dependability, attention to detail, self-motivated, ability to travel between different campus sites and clinics in Iowa City, Coralville, and possibly further, will be required so access to reliable transportation is important. |
