Position Description:

The Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, Carver College of Medicine, at the University of Iowa, is pleased to announce an open post baccalaureate research internship position in the Hultman Lab (https://hultman.lab.uiowa.edu/). This position will contribute to the lab’s research funded by R01MH137086: “Investigating single cell transcriptomics and epigenetic regulation to enable stress-resistant brain network activity” (https://reporter.nih.gov/search/jOf-K0uoEEy3DFZZyLTzOw/project-details/11296333).



 



 



 



 

Education Requirement:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related science

Required Qualifications:

Required qualifications:



Commitment to scientific integrity and outstanding record-keeping skills



Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal and written)



Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously



Scrupulous adherence to rules and regulations



Interest in animal models of disease; neuroscience



Strong initiative-taking; maintaining responsibility for learning new tasks and making sure they get completed



Strong problem-solving skills.



Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail.



Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate efficient completion of different responsibilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

Desirable qualifications:



Experience with animal husbandry, handling, and basic behavioral experiments



Familiarity with and basic ability to code in R and/or MatLab, demonstrated by past work or completion of course work. Basic proficiency with Excel.
