Position Description:

The Mandala Lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Iowa is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team. We are a new research lab working at the intersection of biochemistry, structural biology, physiology, and biophysics. This is a timely opportunity to join an ambitious team within a larger department with a well-established and vibrant research community. A successful postdoctoral fellow in this lab will develop proficiency with advanced techniques in the structural and functional analysis of membrane protein complexes involved in neuronal signaling and signal transduction. Education Requirement:

PhD degree in Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Chemistry/Pharmacology or a related field



 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in protein purification and functional characterization.

  • Proficiency in communicating and writing in English is required.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience purifying proteins from mammalian cells.

  • Experience with tissue culture and working in a BSL-2 laboratory environment.

  • Proven experience in independent research.
