Position Description:

The Geophysics Laboratory, led by Dr. Hang Chen, is seeking applications for a postdoctoral scholar in the field of hydrogeophysics and electromagnetic geophysics. The position is initially for one year, with the potential for renewal based on performance and funding. Start dates are flexible. 



The postdoctoral scholar will: 





  • Conduct research in applied hydrogeophysics. 







  • Work with electromagnetic geophysics methods and geophysical field data collection







  • Participate in field campaigns, including data acquisition and processing. 







  • Assist with laboratory setup and instrumentation. 







  • Support class preparation and mentoring of students. 





 



About the Lab 



The Geophysics Laboratory led by Dr. Hang Chen, focuses on developing and applying geophysical methods to study hydrogeological and environmental processes. We integrate fieldwork, computational modeling, and laboratory experiments to improve understanding of subsurface systems.

Education Requirement:

PhD or equivalent in geophysics, applied physics, earth sciences, or a closely related field. 

Required Qualifications:


  • Expertise in electromagnetic geophysics







  • Experience with geophysical field data collection







  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent fieldwork. 







  • Proficiency in a scientific programming language (Python preferred). 







  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications. 







  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
