Position Description:

For a collaborative grant with the University of Minnesota funded by the Department of Energy on excess electrons in ionic liquids, the Margulis group is seeking a postdoc that should be (i) well-versed in first principles molecular dynamics simulations, and (ii) well-rounded in quantum chemistry theory as well as simulation work in general. Experience with packages such as CP2K or similar is needed. Experience with the simulation of room-temperature ionic liquids is highly desirable.



Expectations are that the candidate (1) will work collaboratively with the PI, collaborators at the University of Minnesota and at Brookhaven National Laboratory as well as with students, (2) will help train students on the project, (3) will be highly productive as measured by high-quality scientific journal articles and presentations.



The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal contingent on funding and performance.

Education Requirement:

  • PhD in chemistry or closely related field.

  • Research interests that align with the lab and research project as described above.
