Position Description:

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Songhai Chen, Ph.D., in the Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology at the University of Iowa. The research project is centered on the molecular mechanisms of obesity and cancer. The candidate is expected to perform experiments in cultured cells, xenograft and genetically engineered mouse model of diseases  using a combination of molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques.

Education Requirement:

PhD degree in a biomedical related science

Required Qualifications:

  • A strong publication record and excellent references from PhD research

  • A strong molecular biology and biochemistry background and tissue culture skills and experience in studying signal transduction

  • Proficiency in communicating and writing in English is required

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience of working with animals is preferred
