Position Description:

Postdoctoral Scholar to Tenure-Track Assistant Professor



The departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering and Radiation Oncology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa seek a highly qualified and motivated research scholar to join a research program in the general area of Artificial Intelligence/Big Data and their application to cancer treatment or related areas. The initial appointment is a full-time postdoctoral research scholar position for two years. At the end of the period, subject to qualification evaluation and available funding, the position is intended to be converted to a tenure-track assistant professor position jointly in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Radiation Oncology.



The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with faculty, staff, and students of these two departments as well as Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, Iowa Initiative for Artificial Intelligence and a number of departments within the College of Engineering and the Carver College of Medicine.  A specific plan of research and mentorship will be defined for the successful applicant based on their interests and capabilities, and mentorship includes advisors with successful research experience and track record of research funding.



This position is available immediately and the start date is flexible.

Education Requirement:

Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related areas.

Required Qualifications:

Established track records or evidence-based promising future in Artificial Intelligence/Big Data and their application to cancer treatment or closely related areas.
