| Position Description: | CLINICAL ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR(Iowa City MSW Practicum Faculty)School of Social WorkIowa City, IA ANTICIPATED START DATE: AUGUST 1, 2026 (FLEXIBLE) The University of Iowa, School of Social Work seeks a full-time, 12-month, clinical assistant or associate professor to support student success when preparing for, entering, and completing social work practicum at the master’s level. This position involves teaching practicum content courses, assisting with training practicum students and supervisors, identification and development of new placement sites based on the needs of the program and students, and serving as the lead liaison to practicum sites. The individual should have social work practice experience and expertise to guide MSW students specializing in clinical or leadership practice in seeking practicum placements. The individual should also have experience teaching in social work, with the ability to teach in person and online. They should also be able to engage in professional productivity and service. This position is based in Iowa City. The initial appointment is for one year (2026-27), renewable for up to two years (2027-28) and 2028-29), and renewable thereafter in three-year increments, pending collegiate approval and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
