Position Description: | The Department of Emergency Medicine at University of Iowa Health Care invites recent graduate and experienced physicians to apply for academic-based or community-based faculty positions. The primary practice site (academic-based vs. community-based) will be determined by multiple factors to include department and applicant considerations, applicant’s qualifications and experience and needs of the overall health care system. Salary, academic rank at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level, and faculty track are commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications, experience, career goals, and research interests. Opportunities exist for involvement in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, EMS, Ultrasound, Research, Toxicology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Critical Care, Sports Medicine, Global Medicine, Social Medicine, plus many more. The University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center University Campus is a Level 1 Trauma Center for adults and children and the state of Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center. We host a core medical student clerkship, emergency medicine residency program for physicians and PAs, and multiple fellowship programs. The department also oversees multiple community emergency departments with plans to expand sites as the health system grows.
