Position Description: | The Department of History at the University of Iowa has an opening for 2024-25 academic year for a 100% Visiting Assistant Professor in Modern American history. The successful candidate will offer four courses each semester. Preferred candidates will be prepared to teach undergraduate classes in American Women’s History or the History of the US in the World, general education classes, as well as courses tailored to their own research specialization. This is a one-year, non-tenure track position, with possibility of renewal up to three years. Preference will go to candidates with demonstrated ability in a range of courses in one of the preferred fields. The selected candidate must have the Ph.D. in hand by August 21, 2024.
