Position Description:

The University of Iowa School of Social Work invites applications for multiple Visiting Instructor positions to teach undergraduate and/or graduate level social work courses.



A Visiting Instructor position can be full-time (4 courses per semester), ¾ time (3 courses per semester), or half-time (2 courses per semester).  The initial appointment is for one year (2024-25).  The full-time equivalent salary is $64,680 plus benefits.

Education Requirement:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program in hand by start date.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated record of at least 3 years, full-time, post-MSW practice.

  • Demonstrated evidence of potential for teaching at the undergraduate or graduate-level.

  • Willingness to teach in-person and/or online
