Position Description:

The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, Department of Neurology is currently recruiting Instructors(s)(non-track), Assistant Professor(s), Associate Professor(s), or Professor(s) for Clinical (Non-Tenure) and Tenure Track positions. The UI Department of Neurology is made up of more than 40 full-time faculty members who provide national and international leadership across a range of neurology areas, including Cognitive Neurology, Cerebrovascular Disease, Neurointerventional Surgery, Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology/MS, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuropsychology and Sleep Disorders. The Department of Neurology has a long tradition of excellence in research, a well-developed research infrastructure, and ample patient populations that support efforts in a variety of areas of investigation.

Education Requirement:

  • MD or equivalent and eligible for an unrestricted Iowa medical license.

Required Qualifications:

  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

  • Commitment to patient care, teaching, and scholarly professional activities.

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated interest and success in clinical, translational, or basic research.

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.

  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with significant teaching or leadership experience.
