Position Description:

The University of Iowa Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a board-certified cardiologist at the rank of Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, depending on qualifications. This position will be in the clinical (non-tenure) track and is not eligible for university sponsorship for employment authorization.



Patient care may occur at University of Iowa Health Care affiliated sites in the community, to include University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, community hospitals, outreach sites and/or the affiliated Iowa City VA Medical Center. Duties will include inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic and noninvasive imaging as well as a share of overnight/weekend call. Duties may include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and/or advanced imaging, depending on qualifications.



Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



 

Education Requirement:

Candidates must have an M.D. degree or equivalent.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must show completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiology fellowship or equivalent. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interactions with students, staff, and faculty.

Certifications:

A board certification in cardiology is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Applicants with evidence of a strong commitment to clinical research, outcomes research and/or teaching are preferred.
