Position Description:

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Preventive & Community Dentistry.  Major responsibilities include: 




  • didactic instruction and clinical supervision in the Preventive and Geriatrics & Special Needs clinics;

  • didactic instruction and mentoring of dental public health Masters and PhD students;

  • research, scholarship, and continuing education in Preventive and/or Geriatrics & Special Needs dentistry; and

  • participation in the departmental intramural private practice.  



Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



 

Education Requirement:

  • Certificate or Masters in Dental Public Health; and

  • PhD in relevant discipline.   

Required Qualifications:

  • ability to be licensed to practice dentistry and/or dental hygiene in the in the State of Iowa

Desirable Qualifications:

  • established record of research in Dental Public Health;

  • consistent record of obtaining external funding for research;

  • experience teaching preventive dentistry in an academic environment; and

  • experience providing comprehensive dental care to frail, compromised, underserved, or special needs adult patients.
