Position Description:

The Department of Surgery Division of Vascular Surgery and the Heart and Vascular Center at the University of Iowa invites applicants interested in a faculty position in Vascular Surgery. Appointment will be for Assistant or Associate Professor in either the clinical-track or tenure track consistent with experience and research interest. This position will join a growing program at a multi-disciplinary, institutional center for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.



University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is the only academic medical center in the state and the faculty are actively engaged in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. We have an ACGME accredited vascular fellowship program and an integrated vascular surgery residency within the division.



Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Education Requirement:

Applicants must be a graduate of an approved medical college and have completed ACGME accredited training in all phases of General Surgery and/or in Vascular Surgery and must be competent in endovascular surgery.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants will need to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to ongoing performance improvement.



Experience providing care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is required.



Dedication to enhancing an inclusive workforce and academic environment is vital.



Experience in research at a level which enables procurement of outside funding is required for tenure track appointments.

Certifications:

Applicants must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in Vascular Surgery.
