Position Description:

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time clinical-track faculty member in the Department of Periodontics



Major responsibilities include: 




  • clinical and didactic instruction at pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels;

  • supervision and mentoring of pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students;

  • professional service; and

  • participation in the intra-mural multidisciplinary faculty practice plan. 

Education Requirement:

  • D.D.S./D.M.D. or equivalent;

  • by time of appointment, completion of an CODA-accredited advanced education program in Periodontics; 

Required Qualifications:

  • clinical and didactic experience in all aspects of Periodontology and Oral Implantology; and

  • eligibility to obtain a sedation permit in the State of Iowa.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Board certification/eligibility in Periodontics;

  • record of effective teaching;

  • record of significant service and leadership achievement in the specialty of Periodontics;

  • achievement in basic and/or clinical research relevant to Periodontology and/or Oral Implantology; and

  • experience in implant provisionalization.
