Position Description: | The Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Iowa invites applications for an academic-year visiting instructor/professor position in the Art Education program. The position will begin August 16, 2023. This is a full-time academic-year (9 month) visiting instructor/professor position with a two-year appointment beginning August 16, 2023. The successful applicant will be expected to teach the equivalent of 3-4 courses per semester, in Art Education, and work with local schools on field experiences for students in the program. Faculty are required to engage in at least 4 hours per semester of collaboration with teachers in contributing to instruction in K12 classrooms. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent start-up package, benefits, and research support. Education Requirement: | An earned master’s degree by August 1, 2023 in Art Education or a related discipline. |
Required Qualifications: | (1) Teaching experience in elementary art or secondary art; (2) demonstrated commitment to working and collaborating with culturally, linguistically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse populations; (3) experience in building partnerships with local schools and communities.

Desirable Qualifications: | (1) Evidence of effective teaching abilities in teacher education in higher education; (2) licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Art Education; (3) demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racist teacher education; (4) experience in design education and/or arts integration; (5) terminal degree in Art Education or related discipline. |
