Position Description:

The University of Iowa Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation is seeking a physiatrist to join our growing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation group.  This position will provide nonsurgical specialty spine care to an existing population and strong referral base of patients with acute and chronic spine conditions. This is an excellent tenure/clinical track, full-time position.



This position offers:




  • Outpatient spine practice

  • Opportunity for interventional spine practice

  • Opportunity to participate in the interdisciplinary pain rehab program of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Spine Center

  • Potential for additional opportunities in EMG, general physiatry, MSK

  • Strong support for research and educational activities with medical students and non-Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation rotating residents and fellows

Education Requirement:

Qualified candidates must show successful completion of a degree from an accredited medical school with excellent clinical and academic credentials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent clinical and academic credentials.

  • Experience working in a team setting.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A commitment to ongoing performance improvement. 

Certifications:

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Desirable Qualifications:

It is strongly desired the ideal candidate will have fellowship training in pain/interventional spine.
