The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, Department of Neurology is currently recruiting candidates for faculty positions within the Cerebrovascular Division as Stroke Specialists. This position may also have a joint appointment with the Iowa Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center.
The Division of Cerebrovascular Diseases of the Department of Neurology is a component of the multidisciplinary University of Iowa Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center in the state of Iowa. The Center includes an inpatient service that treats approximately 900 inpatients and 1250 outpatients per year, a vascular fellowship program, and is a participant in federally and privately funded clinical research studies.
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree or equivalent, be a graduate of an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency and have completed fellowship training in Vascular Neurology or have equivalent clinical experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students and be able to demonstrate job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Demonstrated interest in clinical and basic research.
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with significant teaching, leadership experience and/or an established research record.
