Position Description:

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor. We are searching for a clinical psychologist to contribute to our clinical science doctoral program. This position entails the teaching of core clinical undergraduate and graduate courses and other clinical didactics, supervision of assessment and psychotherapy cases within the Seashore Psychology Clinic, the provision of psychological services, and other related activities. There will also be opportunities to participate in research. Candidates should have experience implementing evidenced-based approaches to assessment and psychotherapy and with teaching and supervising graduate trainees in clinical psychology.

Screening of applicants will begin on February 15, 2019 and will continue until position is filled and appointments will begin on or about August 21, 2019. The initial term for this non-tenure-track appointment will be three years with the expectation of reappointment given satisfactory performance. Candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment and be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Iowa. Education Requirement:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment and be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Iowa.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should have the following qualifications:




  • experience implementing evidenced-based approaches to assessment and psychotherapy

  • experience teaching and supervising graduate trainees in clinical psychology.

Desirable Qualifications:

A record of research as well as obtaining external grant funding is highly desirable.
