The School of Music seeks a scholar and teacher of music theory with an active research program in concert music and/or vernacular music from 1945 to the present. Primary responsibilities include advising and mentoring PhD, DMA, and MA students, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in music theory and analysis, supervise teaching assistants, and serve on departmental committees. Preference will be given to applicants who have established, or show potential to establish, a national and international scholarly reputation.
The appointment will begin August 21, 2019.

PhD in Music Theory (degree must be completed by the starting date of the appointment).
Record of publication or evidence of active research program and demonstrated excellence as a teacher (including as a teaching assistant).
Teaching experience as a faculty member at a college or university; evidence of keyboard competence.
