The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, Department of Neurology is currently recruiting candidates for faculty positions as Clinical Neurophysiologists with expertise in EMG - Electromyography. Rank and appointment will be based on qualifications and experience. This position may also have a joint appointment with the Iowa City Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center.
The EMG Laboratory is part of the Division of Clinical Electrophysiology. Qualified candidates will be expected to participate in routine NCS/EMG services; intraoperative neurophysiology monitoring; and special testing, such as repetitive nerve stimulation, blink reflex and autonomic testing.
Successful candidates must hold an MD degree or equivalent.
Graduate of an ACGME accredited Neurology residency program.
Have completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology.
Must have a commitment to patient care, teaching, and research.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students and be able to demonstrate job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and board certified by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN).
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with significant teaching, leadership experience and/or an established research record.
