The University of Iowa College of Nursing seeks an adjunct clinical faculty member in the BSN program to deliver hands-on clinical education on a behavioral health unit with a cohort of undergraduate students in Fall 2026. This position requires past clinical teaching experience in the areas of pre-licensure mental health nursing. This clinical course meets in person on a behavioral health unit on the specific days listed. The adjunct faculty member will be mentored by the full-time lead faculty member. The candidate will be oriented to the behavioral health unit August 25 and 28 and be on the unit with students 0630 – 1530 on Sept 1, 4, 8, 11, 15,18, 22, 25, 29,Oct 2, 6 and 9. Compliance Onboarding on August 20 and 21st required. Grading of post clinical paperwork will also be required.   

Qualifications:

• Earned master’s degree in nursing required. Doctorate in Nursing preferred with clinical background in mental health.
• Experience with adult learners and 10+ years of academic nursing clinical teaching experience in mental health nursing.
• Candidates must have expertise in nursing education and work experience related to adult learners
• Applicant must be a licensed Registered Nurse and eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa.
