The University of Iowa Campus Safety is seeking a Temporary Security Officer to patrol campus buildings.

This position is performed fully on campus.

Duties to include:

·         Patrol campus buildings and assigned areas with a focus on access control, public safety, and student well-bring.

·         Reporting discrepancies and hazards and notifying police as needed.

·         Use of portable radio communication, body cameras, and departmental vehicles

·         Use of vehicle camera system and small electronics.

·         Traversing outdoors in all weather conditions.

      Wage:  $18.72 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00PM-12:30AM, Saturday & Sunday 7:00AM-12:30AM (Temporary employees limited to 29 hours per week/780 hours per fiscal year)

Location: Campus Safety, UCC and surrounding campus

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

·         Valid Driver’s license is required and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.

·         Successfully complete a criminal background check

·         Demonstrated customer service experience.

·         Basic computer skills.

·         Effective communication skills, oral and written, to interact with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
