Post doctoral Research Assistant in Radiology


The University of Iowa HealthCare Department of Radiology invites applications for a Post doc Research Assistant to join an innovative research team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on spectral CT, quantitative imaging, and artificial intelligence.

Position Highlights:
- Research Focus: Engage in impactful research, focused on spectral CT, quantitative imaging, machine learning, and AI applications in radiology. The research area includes innovative work on developing Deep Learning Based Image reconstruction in CT on Photon Counting Detector CT with work in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers and both qualitative and quantitative image quality assessment.
- Collaborative Environment: The University of Iowa provides a rich environment where faculty, post-doctoral scholars, research associates, and graduate/undergraduate students regularly interact and conduct collaborative research studies.
- Advanced Resources: Access to state-of-the-art technology, dedicated research facilities, and high-performance computing resources.

Qualifications:
- MBBS, MBBCh, MS, MD, PhD, or MD/PhD in Radiology, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience in spectral CT and uantitative imaging including radiomics, machine learning, deep learning or artificial intelligence as applied to radiology or medical imaging.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as LLMs, CNN, DNN, Python, MATLAB, or R, with experience in imaging software and AI frameworks is desired.
- Research Acumen: Strong publication record and a commitment to advancing diagnostic imaging through innovative research. There would be defined commitment to publications and presentations with society meeting presence and setting goals to apply for grant fundings with the goal of embellishing into an independent researcher. 
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration in a diverse research environment.

Appointment Details:
The appointment is for one year, with continued funding contingent on performance during the first six months. Salary and incentives are commensurate with the experience.
