The University of Iowa Youth Ballet and Community Dance School is a non-profit outreach organization within the Department of Dance. As a higher education outreach program dedicated to community building, we are devoted to instructing both classical and contemporary dance forms. Our mission is to inspire a passion for movement practice, kindle curiosity about dance, and support the professional development of educators to contribute to the field. We offer classes for students aged 2–18 and adults of all ages, including eight levels of classical ballet. 

We are looking to hire a Ballet and Pointe Instructor and a Modern Instructor. The ideal candidate must have experience teaching ballet and pointe and/or modern dance and be available to teach classes one or more weeknights after 5:00 PM (class times vary by day) and/or Saturdays, starting in mid-August 2025.

Position Details:

• Hours: 2.5–5 hours per week, depending on availability
• Pay: $16–25 per hour, based on experience
• Employment Type: Employee of the University of Iowa (includes tax advantages over independent contractor)
