A research intern is needed to conduct cutting-edge research focused on understanding the role of immune cells in the pathogenesis of Age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
The candidate will assist in performing experiments using mice using molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques. This appointment is for a limited duration, anticipated length of one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. This position is designed for individuals who:

· Plan to pursue a graduate or professional degree in science, medicine or a related field

Position Responsibilities:
· Maintain colonies of genetically modified mice: breeding, weaning and genotyping of the mice as well as maintaining electronic records of the colonies.
· Perform laboratory maintenance.
· Maintain laboratory and experimental records.
· Assist postdoctoral fellows or graduate students in maintaining mouse colonies and performing genotyping and experiments.
· Keep detailed written and organized records of experimental design, protocols, computer data analysis and raw data.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a biomedical related science or an equivalent combination of education.
