Details | The Student Nursing Assistant supports the Optometry (Contact Lens) Clinic in the Department of Ophthalmology with a combination of direct patient care and administrative tasks. Direct Patient Care Duties · Obtain competency in and use the auto refractor to read patient glasses. · Educate patients on the insertion and removal contact lens wear. · Educate patients on contact lens solution compliance. · Educate patients on lid hygiene compliance. · Disinfect trial and diagnostic lenses. · Stock and inventory trial lenses as needed. · Clean and disinfect patient rooms. · Escort patients to exam rooms for tech evaluation.
Administrative Duties
· Answer incoming calls for the Contact Lens clinic. · Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments. · Schedule outpatient appointments. · Process the rescheduled bump lists. · Confirm patient demographics, insurance, MSP, and caregiver information and makes changes as needed. · Participate in the patient triage process by coordinating same day urgent/emergent appointments in collaboration and consultation with physician. · Process EPIC workques and inbaskets including staff messages, orders, patient reminders, patient scheduling, and patient advice requests. · Fax and scan clinic documents as needed. · May perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Flexible Approximate Hours Per Week: 10-20 hours Pay Rate: $15/hr Required Documents: Resume
