Provide peer support to refugees experiencing distress.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in PM+ Helper Training.

Lead a 5-week, skills based intervention with refugees, using the PM+ curriculum developed by the World Health Organization.

Conduct PM+ assessments and collect data.

Participate in weekly, 1-hour session with PM+ Mentor.

Conduct outreach in immigration communities to recruit clients.

Work will be performed in the Des Moines area.

Work part-time 20-40 hours per week until September 30, 2025.  Rate of pay $20 per hour.

Requirements

Caring individuals who are good listeners, patient, non-judgemental and empathic.

Must be fluent in English and in one or more of the following languages:  Swahili, French, Lingala.

Education or Equivalency

No formal mental health background is needed.
