This position will promote the growth of the UI Patient Appointment Center (UI PAC). This position will develop and monitor the provider templates for all departments associated with the UI PAC. This position will design and manipulate scheduling protocols entered into the system and create scheduling solutions for the departments in the UI PAC. This position will monitor provider schedules to ensure the organization does not “lose time” and produce additional access opportunities. This position will act as a scheduling liaison; promoting the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics “Standards of Excellence” and the UI Patient Appointment Center model. This position may perform other duties as assigned.
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Typically (6 months – 1 year) administrative support or experience.
-Excellent written and verbal communication, which includes presentations, public speaking, and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical language.
-Must have strong customer service skills.
-Must be able to work independently as necessary but enjoy working as a team and possess a team focus.
-Experience working with the Epic system, or an electronic medical record.
-Experience with hospital operations and/or Ambulatory Clinic operations.
-Knowledge of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics policies, procedures, and regulations.
-Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Work, Project, Visio, Access, Power Point, etc).
-Experience developing provider schedules in an electronic database.
