Working Title Clinical Trials Research Assistant

Conducts and manages clinical trials within the parameters of the study protocols for burn patients.Recruit, consent and monitor research subjects.Recruit and enroll participants, ensuring all the prerequisites are complete and conform to required parameters. Explain the study to the participants and assist in obtaining consent to be enrolled in protocol. Responsible for scheduling participants for procedures as requested, arrange for follow-ups with study participants and maintain records of their visits and interviews. Counsel the participant and family regarding the intent of the study. prepare educational materials for participants and other staff to carry out protocol therapy as needed.Communicate concerns to primary investigator and if instructed to the IRB and study sponsor.Maintain case report, other study and institutional review forms in a timely and accurate fashion.Review study budget documents and keep study payments up to date.It is possible that due to enrollment protocol that this time could be spent during evening, night or weekends.

Requires academic knowledge of discipline plus the ability to translate, adapt and apply the knowledge that is generally associated with a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Highly desired qualifications are ability to fluctuate occasionally working nights and weekends to enroll admission patients and/or monitor study patients as sometimes required by the enrollment protocol

Previous experience and participation with clinical trials, preferably in intensive care setting is highly desired

Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and procedures as set forth by the IRB is highly desired.

Previous database experience is desired.

Previous chart abstraction work is desired.
