| Type of Position | Specified Term: A staff member may be appointed to term status for a specific term not to exceed three years in order to accomplish a specific purpose or when the duration of funding is limited or unknown. |
| Duties: | Conduct experimental tests and procedures in a research laboratory; set up and operate laboratory equipment; and record and consolidate research data.
Perform laboratory research using infant rodents, including surgical preparation, neurophysiological recording and/or imaging of brain activity, and data analysis. Prepare materials for reports to be written by faculty and staff on the research project. Collect tissue and culture samples and perform a variety of assays and experimental tests. Perform routine experimental procedures on laboratory animals, including the performance of surgical procedures or administration of drugs. Instruct assistants and students in laboratory procedures and techniques. Requisition supplies, specimens, and materials. |
| Education Required: | Bachelor's degree in psychology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
| Experience Required: | Requires animal research experience in neuroscience and/or psychology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. |
| Desirable Qualifications: | Capable of independent, self-directed work.
Attention to detail. Ability to function on high level within research team. |
