Position Description:

A postdoctoral position is available in the Parker Lab at the University of Iowa. The Parker Lab is part of the Department of Psychiatry and the vibrant and highly collaborative Iowa Neuroscience Institute. Our mission is to map the neural circuitry of neuropsychiatric disease in order to generate new treatments. We are specifically interested in the cerebellar contribution to cognitive dysfunction. We combine ensemble recording from populations of neurons in awake, behaving animals with specific manipulations using techniques such as optogenetic stimulation, targeted pharmacology.



We also translate these results to humans with neuropsychiatric disease using combined EEG, MRI, and TMS.

Education Requirement:

The qualified candidate will possess a Ph.D. in neuroscience.

Required Qualifications:

Prior experience in computer programming is required, as a documented record of publication and experience with operant behavior, stereotactic surgery, animal models is desired.
