Desired Qualifications:Prefer college degree or equivalent. Prefer experience with a citation manager, such as RefWorks or Endnotes for publication; mail merge, data entry and online manuscript submissions; Cayuse and; Qualtrics survey preparation and analysis; and standard format for College of Medicine CVs.
Duties:Provide secretarial support to the Director of IRENE (Iowa Research Network)/Iowa Academy of Family Practice Endowed Chair in Rural Medicine, a Research Scientist, a biostatistician, and other research faculty.

Duties involve assisting research faculty with grant proposal and budget development and submission and post-award grant management; information management and record keeping (electronic and hard copy); compiling reports; maintaining files (e.g., curriculum vitae, biographical sketch, and other support documents); assisting with manuscript preparation and submission and uploading manuscripts that fall under the Public Access Policy to PubMed Central via NIHMS System; maintaining My NCBI bibliographies and other web-based tools and profiles; coordinating educational conferences through the Carver College of Medicine CME Division; preparing and sending bulk mailings; assisting with telephone calls for research projects; designing custom forms such as questionnaires/surveys, brochures, and postcards for research; designing and distribute the semi-annual IRENE e-Newsletter; designing the department’s research bulletin board and research poster presentations; general administrative tasks such as renewing certificates and medical licenses, reporting CME credits to the AAFP and/or ABFM or other agencies, scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars, and coordinating travel.


Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to four years of full-time employment and includes the use of word processing.
