  • Iowa Dental Radiography Certification
  • Iowa Registered Dental Assistant
Additional Information:An advanced starting rate may be requested based on exceptional qualifications. Applicants must have the following by time of appointment: successful completion of ADAA accredited dental assistant program or 24 full-time months chairside dental assisting experience in 4-handed dental practice; Iowa certificate of dental assistant registration; and State of Iowa radiology certification.
Desired Qualifications:1. Prefer experience working with a general dentist. 2. Prefer ability to communicate effectively with others. 3. Prefer experience working with electronic health records. 4. Prefer experience working with graduate students.
Duties:Assist and work with dentists, dental students and dental hygienists.
Provide chairside dental assistance to faculty and graduate dental students in treatment of dental patients. Interacting with patients, assisting with the management of patients, training dental students in operation of the clinic, developing radiographs, and chair-side dental assisting. Will assist multiple providers.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Successful completion of an ADAA dental assistance program or two years of chairside assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry.

2. Must have a current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners.

3. Must possess current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography.
