Position Description:

The UI Department of Family Medicine is seeking physicians for teaching and non-teaching opportunities to build their career within a thriving academic healthcare system. Appointment may be at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank on either the clinical or tenure track. Appointment to the rank of Instructor may also be considered. This is an excellent opportunity to practice a full range of primary care/family medicine, including outpatient, inpatient, and maternity care (operative or non-operative).  Additionally, candidates are encouraged to participate in departmental scholarships and can explore both intramurally and extramurally funded research activities. 



Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



 

Education Requirement:

  • MD/ DO or equivalent degree and show successful completion of an approved residency program in family medicine and fellowship (if applicable).

Required Qualifications:

  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain, or already hold, an active Iowa medical license.

Certifications:

  • Candidates must be board-certified in family medicine (or non-U.S. board equivalent) or be in the certification process (pending completion of residency or fellowship).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
