Position Description:

The University of Iowa’s Department of Health and Human Physiology invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position in Sport and Recreation Management for the academic year 2020-21, beginning August 19, 2020, renewable for a total of three years (2020-2023) and renewable thereafter in three-year increments.  Applications are sought from candidates with a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching in two or more of the following areas:  sport analytics, sport and recreation communications and public relations, sport sales, sport and recreation marketing and promotion, sport business, sport and recreation event management, sport and recreation graduate capstone project course, or related subjects.  Duties of this position include teaching, service to the department and professional development.  Interested applicants are encouraged to learn more about the Sport and Recreation Management program, which offers B.S. and M.A. degrees, at the Department of Health and Human Physiology website: https://clas.uiowa.edu/hhp/

Education Requirement:

A master’s degree in sport management, recreation management, business administration or a related field of study is required in hand by the start date.

Required Qualifications:

A demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching in two or more of the following areas:  sport analytics, sport and recreation communications and public relations, sport sales, sport and recreation marketing and promotion, sport business, sport and recreation event management, sport and recreation graduate capstone project course, or related subjects. 

Desirable Qualifications:

Professional experience in the sport or recreation industries. 



A doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, JD) in a related field of study.
