The Department of Urology at the University of Iowa is seeking to hire a Pediatric Urologist. We are accepting applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor on either the tenure or non-tenure, clinical track.
The Department of Urology has a verifiable need for a fourth pediatric urologist and the incoming faculty member will enjoy the new 250 bed free standing Stead Children’s Hospital. The position offers the opportunity to see all pediatric urology cases or develop any sub-specialty interest, including robotics. An efficient modified block scheduling system allows for easy scheduling of surgical cases.
There are no other pediatric urologists or academic medical centers in the state of Iowa and the closest competition is three hours away. Faculty enjoy excellent salary and benefits.
In addition to practicing at a highly ranked medical school, the incoming candidate will enjoy practicing in a Big 10 Midwest college city with public schools that rank in the top 1% in the country. Housing costs in the area are less than $150/square foot and Iowa City is one of the safest and most well educated communities in the country. The city offers performing arts, eclectic restaurants, and cultural amenities of a diverse, cosmopolitan area without the high cost of living, crime, and traffic of a huge city. Iowa City is also less than three hours from three different large metropolitan areas.
Candidates must have an MD/DO degree or equivalent
Candidates must have completed an accredited residency program, be board certified or eligible, be licensed in the State of Iowa or eligible and be fellowship trained in pediatric urology.
Candidates with prior teaching experience are desired. Tenure track candidates must demonstrate research experience with evidence of scholarly productivity at the University level.
