Position Description:

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Orthodontics. 

Major responsibilities include: 

  • participating in the undergraduate and graduate orthodontic programs;

  • overseeing the treatment of patients in the orthodontics graduate clinic, including craniofacial anomalies patients;

  • teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses;

  • treatment of private patients in the faculty practice; and

  • developing a research focus to advance the specialty.  

The position is available September 1, 2018. 

Academic rank, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

Education Requirement:

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent;

  • by time of appointment –

    • an advanced research degree (PhD, DSc, ScD, or equivalent), and

    • completion of an ADA-accredited advanced education program in Orthodontics.  

Desirable Qualifications:

  • record of effective teaching;

  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Orthodontics; and

  • record of achievement in research.
