The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are seeking a BC/BE physician with a focus on leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and/or blood & marrow transplantation (BMT). This position will be at the rank of Associate, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor, tenure or non-tenure track, depending on qualifications. Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent and show a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research and patient care. Applicants with experience and/or specialized training in transplantation will be highly desirable. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
The Carver College of Medicine is part of a major research university and ranks 10th among public universities in external research funding. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that collaborates closely with the College and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The BMT Program at the University of Iowa is FACT accredited and performs over 175 transplants per year. The hospital is one of the largest university-owned teaching hospitals in the United States and is adjacent to the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Department of Internal Medicine is the major teaching and predominant research department in the Carver College of Medicine. It has a distinguished teaching, research and clinical faculty, with over $41 million in annual NIH research funding and has a large number of distinguished clinicians who are national and international leaders in their respective subspecialty areas.
