POSITION SUMMARY: The Division of Student Life; University Banquets and Catering is seeking Temporary Banquets & Catering Service Staff to provide event-based service on a per need basis. Under direct supervision, Temporary Banquets and Catering staff will perform general service duties using standard equipment and instructions as needed for banquet and catering locations served. This position performs other related setup and sanitation duties as required and responds to customer inquiries in a positive and professional manner.
Flexible Scheduling Provides an Opportunity for Supplemental Employment!
Duties to include:
Serve dinner guests in a banquet setting and other service areas as assigned. May perform simple service tasks in accordance with specific instructions.
Transports food, beverages, dishware and supplies to service areas, building and outside locations. Replenishes food and supplies as necessary during service period.
Performs sanitation duties by maintaining and cleaning the service, dining and backup areas during and after service and/ or food preparation.
Assists in on-the-job training of students and other assigned personnel in the operation of service and setup of event.
Assists in services to include: packing carts, pushing carts, preparing beverages, setting linens setting tables, replenishing food and beverages, cleanup of event space.
Hourly Rate: $13.04
Hours: Up to 12+ hour shifts: Work Schedules Flexible, Event-Based
Work Week: Event-Based, Various Work Hours and Shifts
Additional Hours: Temporary Position

Ability to read, write and follow directions
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be legal age to serve alcohol-18 years of age or older.
Must be able to move up to 50 lbs and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs. This could include mornings, evenings and / or weekends.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and must be positive and respectful in working with a diverse population.
