Additional Information:Continuous advertising for positions in the Department of Nursing. Direct patient care experience is preferred.
Duties:
Basic Function and Responsibility: Nursing Assistants are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement the delegated aspects of nursing care.

Provide Excellence in Heath Care Value. (Quality, Satisfaction, Cost)

Maintain a well-organized, clean patient care and employee work area. Utilize proper body mechanics and safety measures recognizing potential for patient, staff, or visitor injury and initiate appropriate action to prevent injury. Practice universal precautions with infection controls in accordance with Institutional Policy and have the knowledge and skills to perform preventative nursing measures in high-risk patients.

Provide Excellence in Service as Defined by Customers.

Interact with patients, visitors and other heath care professionals in an effective manner and maintain positive, cooperative relationships. Correctly perform and assist with necessary personal hygiene tasks and activities of daily living. Perform treatments as assigned & delegated. Recognize potential hazards for staff, patients, or visitors and initiate appropriate action to correct the problem.

Support Efforts as Employer of Choice.

Work well with all levels and types of people, welcome divergent ideas, and maximize limited resources. Create and maintain an atmosphere which promotes optimal efficiency. Demonstrate commitment to people and participate in team decision making when appropriate.

Demonstrate Exceptional Accountability for Professional Practice.

Initiate appropriate verbal and written communication in a timely manner regarding assigned patient's status, and have a good understanding of Institutional patient care records and documentation. Use medical terminology and symbols (verbal, written & electronic) to document patient care and progress within their scope of practice. Assist staff during emergencies, within the scope of his/her capabilities. Maintain processes for ordering, obtaining, and securing supplies that is cost effective and meets unit's needs.

General supervision is received from the Nurse Manager, and no supervision is exercised.

Ability to read, write and follow directions.
